Heretic Brewing Company is a locally-owned microbrewery and tap room specializing in award-winning full flavored ales and lagers. This nationally recognized brewery now distributes to over a dozen states and multiple countries, and is based right here in Fairfield!
There are over 20 beers on tap with multiple flight options. A full kitchen serves both appetizers and meal options. Heretic is kid and family friendly, with board games available to play. Leashed dogs are allowed in outside patio area only. No dogs allowed in the tasting room.
Free basic tours of the brewery are offered Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 4 p.m. Reservations are not required. Please arrive by 3:45 p.m. and let the bartender know you are there for the tour. If coming with a large group of eight or more, please call ahead. After the tour, guests can purchase beer in the tap room. For safety reasons, small children are not allowed on the tour.
Products include Evil Twin Red IPA, Evil Cousin Double IPA, Shallow Grave Robust Porter, Gramarye Rye Ale, Tartuffe Berliner Weiss-style ale, the IPA series, Cement Hill pale ale, Torment Dark Belgian Strong, Petit Rouge Belgian blonde with organic Egyptian Hibiscus, and the luscious Chocolate Hazelnut Porter. Heretic also brews a series of fruit sours called Agony (because it’s agony waiting for them to mature in the oak barrels!) They also have rotating Belgians, Stouts and Barleywines and have special releases throughout the year.
Heretic also offers a distillery tasting room that features four flavors of vodka and three types of gin, all distilled from beer made at the brewery from the tanks seen inside the Confessional.
The brewery is open Monday to Thursday, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday to Sunday, 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
