This weekend, dance teams from across Cy-Fair ISD will showcase their moves at the CFISD Dance Showoffs. The Cypress Ranch Classics will be joined by the Cy-Creek Silverados, Cy-Woods Crimson Cadettes, Cy-Lakes Sterling Stars, and many more. This year's fourth annual Cy-Fair ISD Superintendent's Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 18, from 8 a.m. to noon, and it will be hosted at the Berry Center. This family-friendly fun run and festival will feature a 5K, 1-mile run/walk, and family path option, as well as food trucks, games and activities for kids, vendors and more at the festival afterwards.

The Vintage Park Alamo Drafthouse movie theatre will now become Star Cinema Grill, according to a recent announcement, and this will mark the theatre chain's fourth Houston location. The last day the theatre operated as the Alamo Drafthouse was Sunday, Dec. 4, and the transformation to Star Cinema Grill is expected to be completed this weekend. Cy-Fair ISD hosted the third annual Career Options Fair at the Berry Center on Nov. 15, and over 1,450 middle and high school students, along with their parents, attended to learn more about technical and career programs and industry certifications. All 14 of the District's CTE programs were in attendance, including ROTC, culinary arts, cosmetology, computer science and several more.
Cypress Ranch High School career and technical education (CTE) students recently built a device that will make daily classroom activities for one visually impaired elementary school student much easier.

Cy-Fair ISD athletes joined thousands across the country in signing letters of intent for collegiate sports on Early Signing Day, which was held this year on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Cy-Ranch High School senior Blake Nevins was recently announced as one of 25 finalists for the Touchdown Club of Houston's High School Football Scholar-Athlete Award. On Nov. 16, the award will be presented at the JW Marriott Ballroom during the 18th annual Scholar-Athlete Luncheon. Nevins is one of two athletes chosen from Cy-Fair ISD.
