About Suisun Valley

Located within and just outside of Fairfield, CA, Suisun Valley is a rustic destination and a fun place for visitors who are searching for world-class wines, home-grown farm products, and a beautiful, agricultural landscape, without the crowds. The valley is a designated American Viticultural Area (AVA) and is considered Fairfield’s wine region, making it a popular destination right on Fairfield’s doorstep.

Established in 1982, the Suisun Valley appellation is located southeast of Napa Valley, nestled between two coastal mountain ranges. The region is known for its diverse agricultural landscape, home to approximately 10 wineries and vineyards cultivating more than 23 grape varieties. Suisun Valley is especially recognized for its Petite Sirah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Beyond the award-winning wine, the valley features numerous farm stands offering fresh fruits and vegetables, dried fruits, nuts, and locally produced olive oils. These crops are grown in the rich soils between the eastern slopes of the Mount George Range and the Twin Sisters, on family-owned farms—many of which have been passed down through generations. Throughout the year, Suisun Valley hosts relaxed, seasonal events that invite visitors to enjoy world-class wines alongside farm-fresh produce in a welcoming, down-to-earth setting.
