Fly Fishing at Putah Creek Wildlife Area

Putah Creek Wildlife Area is 673 acres of gently sloping to steep hillsides of cottonwood riparian, blue oak woodland and chamise chaparral natural communities. This area is just downstream of the Monticello dam, in Solano County, where Cold Creek enters Putah Creek and includes Stebbins Cold Canyon Reserve. Access is available off Highway 128 just just east of the Monticello Dam and 10 miles west of Winters. Popular activities here include fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, bird watching and hunting.
